Couples Therapy
When it comes to relationship help, there's no shortage of gurus, advice givers, and content creators vying for your attention, time, and hard earned money. Yet, less than 20 percent of therapists actually have any specialized training in couples therapy or relationships. And much of what is advertised as couples therapy or relationship counseling / advice has no real evidence or science behind it. In contrast, I bring years of successful clinical practice with real couples; a wealth of knowledge into the latest and best research on what helps relationships thrive; and advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which has decades of solid evidence as having one of the highest long-term success rates for couples. Your relationship deserves the best and that's what you'll receive when you work with me.
World Class Methods
I have advanced training and years of experience integrating the following proven methods to help couples strengthen and renew their bond.
Attachment Focused
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Developed by Dr. Susan Johnson, Emotionally Focused Therapy or EFT for short, is a structured, well researched, and highly regarded approach to couples therapy based on the science of our human need for safe, secure connections with others, known as Attachment. EFT helps couples discover what gets in the way, or blocks their ability to safely and securely reach for one another in challenging moments or to respond to one another with empathy, understanding, and care. Couples don't just learn what to do in EFT...they do it and in so doing, experience new depths of meaning in their relationship, as well as new ways of connecting and staying connected, whether in happy or hard moments.
Evidence / Research Informed
Gottman Methods and Others
Drs. John and Julie Gottman's world renowned and groundbreaking research has, for several decades reliably shown the world the characteristics of relationships that are successful over time and those that end in divorce or perpetual unhappiness. Gottman's research infuses the process of couples therapy with the most practical steps for defusing and disarming communication standoffs, for reigniting affection and admiration, and for building the rewarding relationship couples long to have together.

New Couples. Infidelity or Other Betrayals. Sexual Issues.
My approach to Couples Therapy is to meet each couple where they are, to help them create a shared vison of what they want their relationship to be, and then to integrate the world's best research and skills to help couples create that new reality together. I work on behalf of the relationship, recognizing how important it is to each person. I believe that no matter what challenges couples face, their innate longing for secure connection is powerful enough to help them accomplish even the toughest goals, together. With this approach I have helped countless couples over the years not only survive setbacks, but renew their commitments, rebuild trust from the ground up, and enjoy the pleasures of a more secure bond.
